What is a technical animation?
You can of course write a detailed report on how an installation works. But to be honest: who is really waiting for that? With a technical animation, you show how it works. Step by step, clear and visual. Super handy if you want to explain something technical to people who don’t work with it every day. But also great for quickly bringing colleagues or partners up to speed.
We often use existing 3D CAD models. That saves a lot of work and gives you all the room to show exactly what you consider important. Want to know how we approach that? We would be happy to explain it.

Introduction
We start with a conversation. What do you want to convey, who needs to understand it and why? Together, we will determine the role of animation in your communication. We will also look at what content and style already exists, so that your technical animation will perfectly align with your existing material.
CAD model & script
When it comes to technical animations, we usually start with your 3D CAD models. You probably already have them in .fbx or .stp format, used for FEM calculations, production, or as part of a digital twin or BIM project. We also further refine the script: what exactly should be depicted, who it is intended for, and which elements make your story unique?
Concept & mood board
Based on the story and objectives, we come up with a creative concept. We create a mood board that shows the atmosphere and style that fits your brand. And, just as importantly, which technical elements should be highlighted and what differentiates the product from the competition?
Storyboard & animatic
The story takes shape. We create a storyboard in which you see step by step what will be on screen. Then comes an animatic: a rough version of the animation with timing, temporary voice-over, and rough images. Ideal for checking the flow and structure before we finalize the details.
Production & finishing
Time to really make it beautiful. We will build the 3D environment with your models, complemented by our own or purchased objects. Color, movement, sound, and animation. Everything comes together. Of course, you will be watching and providing feedback at the previously agreed upon moments.
Delivery & completion
Are you happy with the result? Then we will deliver the video in the agreed formats. Do you want additional versions, social snippets, or a different call-to-action? That is possible!
