What is a 3D animation
A 3D animation is essentially a fully digitally created video, in which three-dimensional objects are used. 2D animation follows the same rules, but uses two-dimensional representations.
The use of 3D makes it possible to clearly depict complex systems and subjects in a dynamic and detailed way. Think, for example, of the technical operation of a wind turbine, or the internal mechanisms of a machine.
By having a 3D animation created for these concepts, information is conveyed in an accessible manner. Not only how something works, but also how to handle it, what it might look like in the future, the effects of safety considerations, and more. And all of this without having to scroll through an endless PDF.
To create 3D animations, 3D CAD models are used. These models can be rotated in all possible angles, move, and be provided with a specific color or material. They can also easily be displayed as exploded-view, where the concept is pulled apart so that all individual elements are visible.

Indall is an animation studio with a technical background. This means that we have years of experience in visualizing technical concepts and can therefore tell our clients exactly how their challenge can be best addressed.
Our team has extensive experience in creating visual materials for, among other things, explaining complex processes, safety instructions, and visualizing innovations (for clients who still need to convince their investors or internal stakeholders). How does such a process work?
Introduction
We start with an introduction. What do you want to share and who needs to understand it? We will consider the role of animation in your communication and together we will create a clear plan of action. Additionally, we will also look at the content you already have, so we can ensure that your new video fits seamlessly within the existing brand style.
Concept & mood board
Based on the story and objectives, we come up with a creative concept. We create a mood board that shows the atmosphere and style that fits your brand. This way, we are immediately on the same page.
Script & storyboard
The story takes shape. We write a sharp script with accompanying voice-over text and create a storyboard that shows how the animation is built up step by step. This way, you get a good idea of what it will look like.
Animatic
We bring everything into motion with an animatic: a first version of the video with timing, voice-over, and rough visuals. This way, you can already experience the flow and check whether all elements are included and represented correctly before we make everything look nice.
Production & finishing
The animation comes to life. We add color, movement, sound, and details. During this phase, you will of course remain involved with clear feedback moments, so that everything is just right.
Delivery & completion
Are you happy with the result? Then we will deliver the video in the agreed formats. Do you want extra versions, social snippets, or another call-to-action? No problem!
The benefits of 3D animations
Make it tangible
In a 3D animation, all irrelevant elements can easily be removed, allowing the focus to be on what you want to explain. No more distractions from fences, switch cabinets, and protective covers, but the focus on what really matters.
Unique perspectives
Thanks to 3D, you are not limited to reality. Situations that are normally not visible or impossible to film (such as the inside of an electric motor) are captured in sharp detail.
A glance into the future
You have a good product or concept, but there is still no prototype. How do you explain that to employees and investors? Don't worry, based on a technical 3D CAD model you can still visually present innovations and engage people in your story.
The eye wants something too
3D animations are becoming increasingly popular, especially in a world where we consume an unprecedented amount of visual content. 3D visualizations capture the imagination, are to the point, and explain complex subjects in no time. Perfect for attracting the attention of (potential) customers through online campaigns and in pitches.
